Non-Insured Health Benefits

The Non-Insured Health Benefits Program (NIHB) is Health Canada's national, needs-based health benefit program that funds benefit claims for a specified range of drugs, dental care, vision care, medical supplies and equipment, short-term crisis intervention, mental health counselling, and medical transportation for eligible Nisga'a people.

NVHA has 3 Patient Travel Clerks and a MS&E Vision Care Clerk in Gitlaxt'aamiks to process NIHB claims. They are:

  • Renee Morven
  • Tina Bolton
  • Karen Leeson
  • - Cherie-Ann Eli, MS&E/Vision Care

Workers cannot change what is covered, and what is not covered within the program. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Non-Insured Health Benefits, contact George Robinson, CFO, at the Gitlaxt'aamiks centre.
